Daughter of the respected French painter Emmanuel Bellini, Lucette studied by her father’s side and developed a personal style that is both “naïf” and “impressionistic”. Her use of colors both intense and elegant, represents in a timeless fashion her penchant for the “Belle Epoque”, while bringing to the forefront her love of family. Often represented depictions of everyday life, the warm interiors, family gatherings, weddings, holiday celebrations or simple fireside evenings at home with her precious cats and dogs. The scenic landscapes of the lavender harvest, snowscapes, musical concerts, dance halls and garden parties reflect her warm family memories, the calm and joy of a way of life that seems so allusive today.
