Salvador Castellà

A young Spanish artist from Cataluña, classically trained in art schools in Barcelona, Madrid and London. Castellà’s work has evolved over time, using different mediums from oil, to acrylic, watercolor and etchings. He recently has experimented using old car windshields, painted in a reverse execution technique, using bold imagery which combined with the transparence of the crystal, permeates this novel work in a surreal fashion- inspiring your imagination.

In another style all together, Castellà’s etchings are directly inspired by the lush landscape and it’s influence on the lives of the villagers of the small town he now calls home. It is a celebration of life, of the red earth and mountains, the blue sky and hot sun, the grapes and trees, of the hard work that constitutes the daily life in this region where life continues much as it has for the last few centuries. In this same village where Picasso once lived, and executed his earliest cubist painting in 1909.

Castellà is represented by prominent galleries in London, Barcelona and Madrid, and has been placed in the private collections of important and influential patrons. A painting from his ‘Cloud’ art series recently appeared as an album cover by the musical producer Charly Misterio.
